Slitting

Slitting is a process used in the metalworking industry to cut wide coils of steel into narrower strips. These narrower strips are then recoiled and packaged to be used in various applications. Expert slitting of flat-rolled carbon steel is Mill Steel’s specialty. We’ve been doing it since our first processing location opened in 1959, and it’s something we pride ourselves on executing with efficiency and attention to quality. Steel slitting is used in various industries, including automotive, construction, and appliance manufacturing. The precise, narrow strips of steel produced are essential for making components like car panels, structural beams, and household appliances.

Cut-To-Length

Cut to Length (CTL) processing is a crucial manufacturing process that involves uncoiling, leveling, and cutting metal coils into sheets of desired lengths. The cut sheets are then stacked in a uniform pile and packaged to customers’ specifications for shipment. CTL processing reduces waste and improves efficiency in downstream manufacturing processes. By combining advanced technology, precise equipment, real-time monitoring, and strict quality control protocols, Mill Steel consistently produces sheets with high flatness and quality standards. Sheets are used in various industries, including automotive, construction, appliances, and machinery, where precise dimensions and high-quality flatness are critical.
